Side Effects
Side Effects is a gentle, asymmetric floor sequence designed to restore clarity and cooperation between the hips, ribs, and spine. Using familiar movements in unfamiliar relationships — step-through lunges, pelvic tilts, side-bending, and seated spinal articulation — this practice invites the nervous system to differentiate what stabilizes from what moves. Rather than stretching or forcing range, the sequence re-maps how the pelvis, lumbar spine, rib cage, and thorax distribute effort and support one another. This is especially helpful if: Your ribs feel “stuck” to your shoulders One hip or side always feels tighter than the other Your movement tends to feel globally effortful rather than locally organized You want more spinal fluidity without aggressive stretching Think of this as less of a workout and more of a perceptual reset — helping the body restore fascial glide, segmental control, and a clearer sense of internal support.
No equipment needed. Floor space recommended.
Move slowly, breathe naturally, and let the asymmetries teach you.
