I Kneed You to Knead Me

This 90 minute class focuses on knee health and strengthening. 

As a primarily linear joint, it relies on the ankles and the hips for it’s 3 dimensional mobility. Often, knee pain is a result of limited function above or below the joint itself.

Strengthening the knees involves strengthening the muscles that feed in to the tendons and ligaments that stabilize the joint - using resistance and bodyweight combined with the intention of “ making space” within the joint itself to allow for the synovial fluid to move freely as the knee bends and straightens.

The Gyrotonic tower is the perfect environment to provide a healthy resistance for the knees - applying either the upper or lower straps depending on your goal. In this intermediate group class we explore ways in which to apply a Gyrotonic workout through this lens.
