Jedi Spine Tricks at Lightning in a Bottle
Recorded live at Lightning in a Bottle with an improvised live soundscape by Hanif Wondir, Jedi Spine Tricks is a 75-minute movement experience exploring spinal mobility, neuroplasticity, proprioception, breath, and nervous system awareness. This class begins with a simple premise: your body is not separate from your mind. Movement becomes a way of changing perception—not by forcing shapes, but by changing the quality of information moving through the system. Through playful movement experiments, qigong-inspired stimulation, self-massage, spinal articulation, eye training, foot mobility, breath practices, and movement constraints, we explore the body as an ongoing conversation with sensation, attention, and possibility. Topics woven throughout the class include: ✦ Proprioception and body awareness ✦ Spinal mobility and rotational freedom ✦ Neuroplasticity and movement learning ✦ Nervous system regulation ✦ Sensory input and pain perception ✦ Foot and ankle mobility ✦ Breath and rib expansion ✦ Eye exercises for coordination and balance ✦ Exploratory movement and embodied practice This class is intentionally taught as an experience rather than a sequence to perfect. Follow sensation over appearance. Move at your own pace. Pause when curiosity appears. Notice what changes. You may want: — Comfortable clothes — Enough space to reach your arms around yourself — Bare feet (optional) — Water nearby — Permission to move differently than the people around you Movement + Instruction: Domini Anne Live Sound Environment: Hanif Wondir
